Many of our friends and colleagues who live out in Tanzania rave about this lodge and recommend it to friends and relatives. It's genuinely relaxed but with a high level of service.

The 7 individual beach cottages and 2 beach houses are bright, spacious and stylish. There are king size beds, ensuite bathrooms, electric fans, fresh water showers and for a special extra touch, fresh tropical flowers are placed in the rooms daily.

The restaurant and bar are right on the beach. The food is always great with fabulous views and ambience of the Indian ocean. Freshly caught seafood is naturally the major speciality.

The bar overlooks the ocean so you can relax and watch the waters shimmer as the light fades whilst you enjoy a sundowner or two.

There are lots of cool activities including diving and snorkelling around Maziwe Island; big game and "local" fishing; sea-kayaking, dhow sailing and boogie boarding.

To get to Tides you need to take a short flight to Tanga from DAR or Zanzibar or drive overland from Arusha in the north.
