The Tembo House Hotel is situated in the heart of Stone Town, Zanzibar on the picturesque seafront.

Tembo House Hotel is next to the sea and a small beach, more important however, is the hotel's close proximity to the Forodhani Gardens and its easy access to the back streets and shops of the Old Stone Town.

Almost all of the 37 rooms have balconies which either overlook the sea or the swimming pool courtyard in the centre of the hotel.  All rooms have traditional Zanzibar furniture, air-conditioning, fridge, telephone and satellite tv .

The main drawback from our experience is that the quality of the rooms can be a little inconsistent with slight patchy service.

The hotel has a good location for exploring the markets and narrow streets of old Stone Town during the day and also heading out to any of the local bars and restaurants in the evening.  It is worth pointing out that the hotel is "dry" of alcohol.
